The Amos Family

Ellsworth & Kayla Amos

Ellsworth and Kayla Amos built Famos on 66 out of two shared loves: feeding people and bringing their community together. After years of cooking for friends, family, and events, they dreamed of a place where guests could slow down, share a great meal, and feel genuinely taken care of. Route 66 was the perfect backdrop—classic, a little nostalgic, and full of stories—just like the recipes and ideas they’d been perfecting at home.

Famos on 66 is their way of turning that dream into a reality: a family-run restaurant where scratch-made food, creative cocktails, and warm hospitality all come together. For Ellsworth and Kayla, it’s not just a business—it’s their family’s table, open to anyone passing through or calling this town home.

Mary Jo Amos “Grandma”

Grandma Amos didn’t just cook for our family—she cooked for the whole town. As a proud member of the Red Hat Society, she loved any excuse to gather people, swap stories, and share a good meal. If there was a new neighbor, a new baby, a loss, or a celebration, she was there with a pan of something hot and homemade. She knew everyone by name, remembered their favorite dishes, and believed a pot of soup or a fresh-baked pie could make a hard day a little easier.

Her kitchen was always open, her table always had room for one more, and she treated every guest like family. That quiet, steady love of community—and her habit of helping people through food—is a big part of why Famos on 66 exists today. We’re simply carrying on what she started: using a warm meal and a welcoming place to take care of people.
